Electrical Efficiency and Conservation
The CASA Electrical Efficiency and Conservation Project Team (EEC) was created to implement the electricity efficiency and conservation recommendations (#s 65 – 68) found within the November 2003 report of the Electricity Project Team to the CASA Board, with the aim of increasing electricity efficiency and expanding conservation efforts within the province.
The key recommendations are:
- The Government of Alberta will develop an overarching Energy Conservation and Efficiency Framework for Alberta.
- The Government of Alberta will ensure the Energy Conservation and Efficiency Framework for Alberta is developed and implemented collaboratively with stakeholders, striving for consensus within the process.
CASA also recommended important elements of the proposed Framework, including all uses of energy (i.e., electrical, heating and transportation).
The Electrical Efficiency and Conservation Project Team recognized that this issue transcends electrical efficiency and conservation and recommended that it be expanded to include all types of energy.
